Versions and approval

Separate draft changes, published evidence and the exact release decision.

All guides

A release is a saved record

Published releases preserve the website, image or sanitized PDF evidence captured for them. A later capture creates new evidence; it does not replace the original release or silently move its feedback.

Draft is not published

Draft changes and captures in progress are not the same as the current published release. Use version history to inspect the selected record and its capture status. Historical visual coverage can be unknown; do not read a missing coverage record as proof that every device was captured.

Compare the right evidence

Inspect the selected saved version and the views it actually contains. A new capture can differ from its source website today. The illustrations here do not promise a universal pixel-diff or a reconstructed interactive PDF.

Approve this release

Release approval is a separate request and decision for the exact release. Only an authorized actor can approve or reopen it. An approved release can retain open threads; approval does not mean every thread disappeared. New publication does not turn a previous approval into approval of new evidence.
